Position Overview: We are seeking a Senior Director of Learning to join our Learning, Platform, and Insights team and guide Mursion’s learning and development approach. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of leading learning design projects, mainly focused on the science of learning and technology-delivered simulated learning. This is an FT, salaried, and fully remote position reporting to the Chief Learning Officer. This person is part of the management team and should be an operator who can lead a team that is data-driven and research-focused. The compensation package is $160K to $180K base salary, bonus eligibility, and benefits based on applied experience, geographic location, and other factors identified by the hiring committee.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the company’s efforts to develop evidence-based simulation library that empowers leaders and helps team members to succeed through improved communication.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts by continuously reviewing data from multiple sources
  • Provide company-wide thought leadership on learning design and best practices for competency-based design aligned with the skills required for success in the workplace
  • Track and analyze shifts in management and learning research to ensure our designs are aligned with leading research literature and best practices.
  • Evaluate potential partners or products for pedagogical excellence and collaborate with the Product and Executive leadership teams on pursuing advantageous partnerships and acquisitions.
  • Evaluate product improvement ideas against academic research, market research, and an in-depth knowledge of workplace learning practices and employee workflows
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts by continuously reviewing data from multiple sources

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience in learning design, learning science, organizational psychology, behavioral science , or other management-related field
  • At least 10 years of experience in learning, organizational psychology, behavioral science, and tech-enabled content publishing required
  • Strong team leadership, team-building, and mentoring skills required, with at least 5 years of people management experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to function in a leadership role with internal and external clients and liaise with other education experts.
  • Demonstrated track record in productizing leadership research in thoughtful and innovative ways; particularly related to the future of work
  • Demonstrated experience developing learning design tools or documentation (i.e. prototypes, design briefs, writing guidelines, scope & sequences).
  • Proven ability to achieve results through influence across an organization and collaboration with other departments
  • Experience working on cross-functional and virtual teams
  • Excellent communication skills
