At Instructure, we believe in the power of people to grow and succeed throughout their lives. Our goal is to amplify that power by creating intuitive products that simplify learning and personal development, facilitate meaningful relationships, and inspire people to go further in their education and careers.
We do this by giving smart, creative, passionate people opportunities to create awesome. And that's where you come in:
We’re looking for an experienced Product Manager to help lead our AI-powered insights and analytics products across Canvas and the broader Instructure ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of education, data, and applied AI, shaping how administrators, instructors, and institutional leaders interact with data to improve learner outcomes. You’ll define and deliver experiences that transform complex educational data into clear, actionable insights—ranging from curated, high-value signals that highlight student and course needs, to self-service analytics experiences powered by natural language and AI-driven exploration.
This is a role for someone who thrives in ambiguous problem spaces, is deeply customer-obsessed, and cares just as much about trust and correctness as they do about speed and innovation. If you’re driven to turn data into decisions—and AI into real-world impact—we’d love to talk.
What you will be doing:
Shape the vision and strategy for AI-powered insights and analytics across Canvas and the broader Instructure ecosystem, driving the shift from descriptive reporting to proactive, AI-first intelligence.
Own and lead key areas of the roadmap spanning curated, action-oriented insights and self-service, conversational analytics experiences, from discovery through delivery, adoption, and scale.
Drive the evolution of AI-powered analytics capabilities, including natural language querying, automated insight generation, summarization, and predictive intelligence.
Build a coherent experience across a growing ecosystem, ensuring insights become richer as customers adopt more of the Instructure platform and connect additional data sources.
Develop a deep understanding of the needs of educators, administrators, and institutional leaders, and champion those needs in strategic and day-to-day product decisions.
Partner closely with engineering and the data platform to ensure accuracy, trust, and reliability of AI-generated insights, including monitoring model performance and reducing regressions over time.
Establish and track success metrics that reflect real-world impact: engagement, decision speed, intervention effectiveness, and trust in data.
Collaborate across product, design, engineering, and go-to-market teams to deliver cohesive AI-first analytics experiences.
Apply modern product practices and AI-enabled workflows to accelerate learning cycles, experimentation, and delivery.
What you will need to know/have:
5+ years of product management experience, ideally in analytics, data platforms, AI-driven products, or edtech environments where outcomes and trust are critical.
Proven track record of owning and driving complex product areas, delivering measurable impact from strategy through execution.
Strong understanding of data systems, analytics workflows, and BI concepts, including experience with SQL-based or semantic-layer-driven products.
Experience leading AI-powered or data-intensive products, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, interpretability, and user trust.
Strong product judgment and customer empathy, with the ability to represent the needs of educators, administrators, and institutional stakeholders.
Comfort working in ambiguous, complex environments, bringing structure, clarity, and momentum.
Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, aligning cross-functional teams across engineering, data, design, and go-to-market at multiple levels of the organization.
A pragmatic, experiment-driven mindset—you move quickly from ideas to learning, and from learning to impact.
Experience in education technology is a strong plus.
-
An innovative spirit. You’re comfortable challenging the status quo and experimenting with new approaches.
What you will love about this role
You’ll shape how thousands of institutions understand and act on learning data using AI-first experiences.
You’ll work on one of Instructure’s most strategic investments at the intersection of education, analytics, and AI.
You’ll define how institutions evolve from traditional reporting and dashboards to AI-first intelligence and decision systems, including conversational, embedded, and predictive insights.
You will work on meaningful challenges where better insights can directly improve student success and institutional effectiveness.
You’ll join a team that operates across both platform strategy and hands-on product execution.
