At Instructure, we believe in the power of people to grow and succeed throughout their lives. Our goal is to amplify that power by creating intuitive products that simplify learning and personal development, facilitate meaningful relationships, and inspire people to go further in their education and careers. We do this by giving smart, creative, passionate people opportunities to create awesome.
And that's where you come in:
We are seeking a visionary Senior Vice President (SVP), Data & Insights to champion enterprise analytics as a driver of growth, profitability, and business performance. This leader will unlock data-informed strategy, predictive insights, and innovation across the organization. The SVP will be accountable for building a trusted enterprise-wide insights function that shapes executive decision-making, optimizes revenue, strengthens forecasting and pricing, and powers operational excellence.
While governance and IT/ops sit under their leadership, the primary mandate is driving business impact through insights.

What you’ll do:

  • Insights & Business Growth (Primary Focus) - Champion the use of advanced analytics and AI/ML to uncover insights that drive revenue growth, operational efficiency, customer success - and inform product strategy where business data reveals opportunities. Deliver trusted, real-time insights and forward-looking models that empower the Executive Committee and senior leadership to make faster, better decisions. Establish a single source of truth for key metrics across Finance, GTM, Customer Success, and Operations - surfacing risks and opportunities proactively. Partner closely with C-suite peers to embed insights into strategic planning, operational execution, and enterprise growth initiatives.
  • Data Strategy & Governance (Supportive Focus) - Provide executive oversight of data governance, ensuring enterprise-wide data quality, consistency, security, and compliance. Leverage dedicated governance experts while ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and regulatory requirements. Guide the evolution of scalable data platforms and practices to support advanced analytics and AI readiness.
  • Enterprise Systems & Operations (Light Focus) - Provide senior leadership oversight of core enterprise systems (CRM, billing, RevOps, IT platforms) to ensure scalability, integration, and reliability. Partner with IT, Security, and RevOps experts to maintain operational excellence without requiring deep technical ownership.
  • Leadership & Culture - Build, inspire, and scale a high-performing team across analytics, BI, data science, and enterprise platforms. Foster a culture that treats data as a strategic advantage, not just reporting. Influence the organizational mindset by demonstrating how insights accelerate decision-making and deliver tangible business outcomes.

The Role Is:

  • Focused on enterprise insights that shape strategy, drive growth, and improve business performance.
  • Centered on predictive analytics and forecasting.
  • Strategic, cross-functional, and foundational to how the company scales.
  • A senior partner to the Executive Committee in leveraging data for business impact.
  • Supported by governance and IT/ops experts, but not primarily a technical systems role.

The Role Is Not:

  • A role that builds customer-facing data products (stakeholders are internal).
  • A pure InfoSec/security leadership role.
  • A hands-on IT/engineering role (experts lead the technical depth).

What you will need to know/have:

  • 15+ years of experience in data, analytics, or technology leadership, with significant experience (5+ years) in an executive or senior leadership role.
  • Proven success delivering measurable business outcomes through analytics and insights.
  • Deep expertise in predictive modeling, forecasting, pricing optimization, and revenue growth analytics.
  • Familiarity with data governance, architecture, and compliance frameworks (able to oversee experts in the space).
  • Leadership experience guiding enterprise systems and IT operations at a senior level.
  • Exceptional communication, influence, and leadership skills with strong ability to partner with the C-suite.
  • Advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related field strongly preferred.

It would be a bonus if you also had:

  • AI/ML infrastructure or data readiness.
  • SaaS or high-growth environment expertise.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Zuora, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
  • Multi-region compliance or GRC exposure.
