About the Role
As the Senior Manager of Business Operations, your role is to ensure smooth execution and resolution of all business operations by identifying and considering the impacts of decisions from end to end. You serve as the connector among stakeholders, possessing a strong ability to distill complex situations and generate requirements quickly, succinctly, and comprehensively. Attention to detail is crucial for you, and your unmatched ability to anticipate different scenarios and potential challenges is balanced by your focus on staying relevant and avoiding getting lost in unnecessary details. You are not prone to analysis paralysis.
Your true expertise lies in finding the optimal balance between time, cost, and quality, while demonstrating remarkable foresight and precision. Achieving this requires strong business acumen, awareness of industry best practices, keeping up with tooling trends, and leveraging your skills as a data expert. You are hyper focused on defining and tracking relevant operational and business success metrics that provide real-time information crucial for making timely decisions.
Moreover, you have a passion for creating operational process flows that not only streamline operations but also bring joy and satisfaction to all cross-functional stakeholders involved.
This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and solve operational gaps before they become blockers, enabling internal stakeholders to excel in their function and remain focused on the customer with minimal distractions
  • Implement end to end solutions, develop work streams that focus on high impact outcomes while reducing irrelevant processes and minimizing redundancies to allow team members to execute repeatedly at scale. Mitigate risks to the company by keeping governance, security, and compliance in mind
  • Use service design thinking to enhance speed, consistency, and quality of service delivery; effectively leverage innovation and drive App Academy’s operational excellence towards becoming a market differentiator by using AI, emerging tools, and automation
  • Establish data collection and reporting mechanisms to monitor operational performance, internal stakeholder satisfaction, and service quality trends against established KPIs. Use results to proactively drive timely decision making and course corrections as needed
  • Conduct regular capacity planning to ensure the organization can meet current and future service demands. Work closely with department heads to develop and implement resource allocation strategies to optimize productivity and cost-efficiency

Education, Skills and Knowledge

  • 7-10 years of tactical experience in operations or program management
  • Have successfully contributed to scaling companies to 300+ FTE
  • High velocity and output team player who is comfortable with the 80/20 doctrine
  • Highly proficient in all written and verbal communications - you are professional, thorough and succinct and aware of your audience at all times
  • Proficiency with service design elements and journey mapping
  • Proficiency with tooling such as Google workspace, Salesforce and Excel
  • Proficient in developing policies and procedures
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior management
  • Extremely organized with a strong command of using productivity tools, project management software, and data analysis tools
  • Strong goal setting and project management experience, including the use of OKR and RACI frameworks
  • Experience utilizing data-driven insights to inform operational decisions and drive process improvements

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in the staffing firm, education and technology sector
  • Knowledge of key organizational concepts such as Radical Candor, MECE, servant leadership
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory compliance and quality assurance standards specific to the education sector
